Valentine’s Beer Tasting

For the fourth year in a row we are organising a small group Valentine’s beer tasting and this year we have a little twist to our menu as we are introducing some cocktails into the mix!

Our annual Valentine’s Day Special is intended for anyone who enjoys craft beer, cocktails, cheese, chocolate and each other’s company! These beery aphrodisiacs will be a great treat for you and your partner. Expect an evening of great-tasting beers and cocktails paired with delicious cheeses and dark chocolate!

Includes tasting of six different cocktails and beers and some great snacks to go with them. This is a guided tasting where our beer specialist and owner Matthew will explain the difference between the beers, where they’re made and some fun trivia about craft beers.Limited to 5 couples maximum. Please note that the beers used (see below) are speciality beers with particular fruity tastes that most people would like, even people who don’t normally drink beer (i.e. lagers).

Full tasting experience:

1. Welcome Valentine’s Cocktail: Dark Rum n Strawberry (a Beer Head signature cocktail) – olives and bruschetta strips

2. Cantarito Paloma Cocktail: 10% – Mexico’s best kept secret, this cocktail blends Casa Rayos Blanco tequila with pink grapefruit juice, orange juice, a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt. Really nicely balanced beverage – paired with Warm Nachos w/cheese, salsa verde, guacamole sauce, jalapeno

3. Passionfruit Martini 14% – This lush cocktail is vibrant and delicious made with Abstrakt vodka and passionfruit liqueur and a hint of lime – paired with warm herbed, baked cheese and baguette

4. Black Heart, Nitro Stout 4.1% (Brewdog) – A velvety stout paired with mature cheese and crackers

5. Amaaazing Haze, NEIPA 6.7% (Stigbergets, Sweden) with Strawberries dipped in chocolate

6. Rattle & Rum (Oaked Stout 7.2%) with Chocolate brownie

15cl serving of each beer / 60-90cl serving of each cocktail

We reserve the right to pour more for eager drinkers but this is would be ex gratia and purely at our discretion. The six beer servings are intended to provide the participant with a good buzz once all six beers have been consumed. We are very used to these beers with an elevated alcohol level and the bar is open for those that would like to consume more.

We also provide a 10% discount to all beer tasting participants on take-home purchases.
